The first level is designed to provide an overview of the supply chain and a foundation of knowledge. It is our core belief that all supply chain professionals must build foundational knowledge across the entire supply chain before building in-depth knowledge in various Specialty Areas.

This level provides an introduction to the supply chain and each of its functional components, building a basic knowledge and awareness of:

• Concepts, components and terminology within the supply chain
• Basic understanding of supply chain business processes
• Positioning of the supply chain within the enterprise
• Methodologies and tools for analyzing the performance of a supply chain.
