In forward-looking companies, competencies have become the primary driver for employee assessment, development, training solutions and all aspects of talent management. Competencies are defined as a set of observable behaviors that encompass the knowledge, skills, attitudes, motives, and temperament that distinguish excellent performers.
Organizations may create or adopt different competency structures. But the Accenture Supply Chain Academy offers a flexible architecture allowing us to align curriculum offerings with specific competencies. This structure also allows organizations to adapt our off-the-shelf competency structure to their own needs. To accommodate such diverse requirements, we've designed every competency to be: - Part of a specific supply chain functional area.
- Linked to a task and accompanying description.
- Specified by a title highlighting the essential skill or focus area for that behavioral requirement.
- Defined by a summary description of the basic action required for successful performance.
- Composed of behavioral indicators specifying excellent performance at each of five proficiency levels (No Basis, Awareness, Functioning, Skilled, and Expert).
- Mapped to Supply Chain Academy courses with different proficiency requirements, as appropriate.
